Samantha & Jacob decided to have their engagement session on the beach. We love the idea of letting couples choose their location since sometimes they will pick somewhere that has a lot of meaning to them. Some will pick where they met, where they had their first date, or in Sam & Jacob’s case, where they got engaged!

Jacob proposed at this same park and Sam had no idea it was coming! She was taking some photos for friends (or so she thought) and Jacob flipped the script and proposed. There’s no better place than the beach for such a romantic occasion!

We had a ton of fun with these two, especially learning about their wedding plans! They will be married at Grand Ol Barn, a New Smyrna Beach wedding Venue. We also learned that Jacob’s sister owns it! The venue already has so much meaning to their family, and having their wedding there would make it that much more special. GOB is a family business and a great spot for weddings close to the water in NSB, which we adore working at. Jacob has quite a few siblings who are also a part of the GOB team, whom we know and love!

In case you were wondering, they really did have as much fun as it looks! As I was editing these I noticed a pattern, they are laughing in more than half of them! At the end of the session, Jacob even admitted he had fun – which to me, is the best compliment there is. Having photos taken of you can be really awkward or even uncomfortable at times, so hearing that he had fun was so nice to hear. My hope is to always make sure anyone who steps in front of my camera leaves knowing just how beautiful they are while having fun. Plus, I now know that the “nuzzle” automatically makes Sam laugh and when done back, it makes Jacob laugh too 😉
