Jenny and Eric’s wedding was a celebration of their love and creativity. They met through online dating while attending the University of Florida, and from there, their love blossomed. They wanted their wedding to reflect their personalities, showcasing all the things that matter most to them, and that’s exactly what they achieved!
Located in Historic Sanford, Florida, Venue 1902 is a historic schoolhouse turned wedding venue with a lot of character and charm! The brick exterior, beautiful landscaped grounds and mostly white interior allows for all different kinds of wonderful photo opportunities. Every part of the venue can be put to use and it quickly became one of our favorite venues! Each room has a chalkboard in it, which I think is so cute for some creative chalk art. Of course, Jenny and Eric had to take advantage of that!
Jenny, a graphic designer with her own design small business, took on the challenge of creating her own invitations and signage. The result was a stunning combination of simplicity and fun, featuring a wildflower design with a touch of whimsy. The invitations set the tone for what was to come on their special day. One of my favorite signs was their signature drink sign that featured their dog and lizard. Eric’s lizards were also seen on his handkerchief.
One of the most impressive aspects of Jenny and Eric’s wedding was the bouquets. Jenny made them herself (with the help of family and friends), using colorful wildflowers as her inspiration through Flower Moxie. The result was a beautiful array of bright colors and textures that perfectly complemented the vision she had. To be honest, I get a little worried when I hear about lots of DIY decor but I was VERY impressed by these floral arrangements! They also looked so amazing against the satin bridesmaids dresses, which were each a different color.
Another personal touch that Jenny and Eric added to their wedding was the use of family heirlooms. They incorporated these treasured items throughout the day, from Jenny’s grandmother’s garter to her bouquet ribbon, which was made from fabric taken from her mother’s wedding gown. Even the flower basket used in the ceremony was an heirloom!
The wedding ceremony took place outside, surrounded by nature, and the atmosphere was perfect. Eric’s best friend officiated with a customized and unique ceremony filled with humor, emotion, and heartfelt promises. As they made their way down the aisle, finally married, the love between Jenny and Eric was palpable, and their joy was infectious!
The reception was held inside the Historic Venue 1902, which was decorated with bud vases and more wildflowers. Jenny and Eric shared their first dance, danced with their parents and then her father gave an emotional welcome speech. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room! We were able to sneak out for a few sunset photos and we found so many great spots with the perfect glowy light.
Jenny and Eric’s wedding was a testament to their creativity, love, and commitment to each other. From the handcrafted bouquets to the use of family heirlooms, every detail was thoughtfully considered, and the result was a truly beautiful and unforgettable day.
Jenny & Eric, it has been a pleasure getting to know you over the last year and we are so incredibly happy for you both! Thank you for letting us be a part of your best day ever! Congratulations to the Los Kamps!! 🎉
