Mediterranean Inspired Wedding | Casa Feliz | Phyllis & Michael

Phyllis and Mike’s love story began unexpectedly on a hiking trip that neither one of them were supposed to attend. Mike had filled in for a friend who had canceled last minute, and little did he know that this decision would change his life forever! Their love story is a reminder that sometimes, the best things in life happen when you least expect them. It just takes one chance encounter to change everything.

Their wedding this past weekend at Casa Feliz was a beautiful celebration of their love, surrounded by family and friends. The theme was Mediterranean-inspired with blue accents and lemons, which created a stunning and romantic atmosphere. It was the perfect fit for the elegant charm that Casa Feliz has to offer. Casa Feliz is a historic home, meaning “happy house”, which has been a part of Winter Park history since 1932. The house actually wasn’t always in this location though! It was saved from demolition in 2001 and moved to it’s current location – how cool is that? It has an iconic arched driveway and the building is lined with beautiful brick, painted tiles, aqua shutters, and window frames, which makes Casa Feliz is an eye catching venue.

Phyllis looked absolutely stunning in her long sleeve lace gown. It fit her like a glove! Michael looked dapper in his black tuxedo, and the two make a truly breathtaking couple. Like don’t be surprised when you see them sporting the cover of a bridal magazine one of these days 😉

Their first look was so emotional and pure and it was honestly one of the cutest things to witness. Mike, who says he never really gets emotional, was in awe of his beautiful bride and didn’t hold back letting her know it! The two enjoyed a few moments together before going into their personalized vows, and I can tell you it only got more emotional from then on out.

They played ‘rock, paper, scissors’ to decide who went first in the vow exchange, and it was so wholesome to see their love shine through in a playful way. They exchanged heartfelt vows, that even had us vendors in tears and pledged there would be no obstacles big enough that they couldn’t overcome together. Afterwards, Phyllis said she was happy she won because she’d never be able to get through her vows after hearing Mike’s. 😂

The tears didn’t stop there though! The ceremony was just as emotional and sentimental as you’d expect. I do this almost every weekend and I can tell you how intentional and genuine these two are in everything that they say and do for each other, and it’s the sweetest thing. They don’t just care deeply for each other though. They care about everyone they come in contact with. They came to check on the vendors during dinner and made sure we were good throughout the day too. They are the kindest souls and I’m SO happy they had their perfect day, which included a rain forecast that magically disappeared the morning of 😊

The reception decor was STUNNING! At Last Weddings + Design and Alyssa Maldonado Designs outdid themselves with this beautiful set-up. Under a clear tent lined with market lights, the tables were accented with lemons and had some of the best florals I’ve seen! The venue’s brick and aqua exterior was the perfect backdrop for it too!

The reception was full of fun and dancing! They even surprised their guests and changed into traditional Indian attire, adding a cultural touch to the celebrations. The evening was full of dancing and laughter, as the newlyweds celebrated their love and the start of their new life together with the people who matter most. It was the perfect end to a beautiful and unforgettable event, filled with love, joy, and memories that will last a lifetime.
