Elegant Dusty Rose Wedding | Grand Ol Barn | Caitlin & Michael

We get a lot of wedding inquiries but I specifically remember Caitlin’s last year. She asked two questions: 1. Are you available 11/4/22? 2. How is your pup doing?

I don’t think an inquiry ever made me actually cry, but Caitlin’s did. She’d been following us on Instagram and saw the news that our dog, Bailey, had been diagnosed with lymphoma and didn’t have much longer. She was so thoughtful to ask about something she knew I was dealing with in my personal life, and unbeknownst to her, it really did mean so much to me that she, a complete stranger, cared enough to ask while going through all the stress that she was herself. I remember getting off our zoom consult call with Caitlin & Mike and thinking we just HAD to be at this wedding because the four of us instantly hit it off so well, and that’s when the fun really started!

Throughout the last year, Caitlin has become more than just ‘one of my brides’, she’s become a great friend. Late at night when both our Mikes were fast asleep, we’d be chatting wedding things on Instagram 😆 sending each other funny reels, and she’s without a doubt always the first one to react to a story or vote in a silly poll of mine. She’s like the cheerleader I never knew I needed, and she’s always so so sweet in checking in on me if she knows I’m sick or had a rough day. I kind of hope she plans another wedding soon so I have an excuse to talk to her on a weekly basis after this 😂 (just kidding Moesch 😝) Leave it to me to go off on a tangent. Anyway….

Caitlin & Mike had an incredible wedding day! The chose a beautiful dusty rose color palette and had some of the most gorgeous florals. Michael looked handsome as ever in his black tux (complete with a decanter of whiskey 😆), and Caitlin’s gown was a SHOWSTOPPER. She was so excited about the long train and lace detailing (so was I) and even bought a long veil just for me to play with 🥲 If you stick around long enough, you will see it was worth every penny 😍 Together these two absolutely killed their wedding day look 🔥

Hair ✅ Makeup ✅ Confetti 🎉 Now it was time for a trio of first looks for Caitlin. First with her gorgeous bridesmaids, then with her sweet Dad and finally, her groom. Since they opted for a first look, we were able to get all their portraits done ahead of time, which not only saved them time to party, but we were able to get so many more photos of them together. 😉 They were also able to enjoy some one-on-one time together, where Caitlin gifted Michael a pin of his late father to wear inside his jacket, close to his heart. ♥️

Michael’s Uncle, David, officiated the ceremony, which was so special. They had heartwarming vows, so touching that Michael tried to kiss Caitlin mid-ceremony 😂 Uncle David was not having it though, and neither was Caitlin when she pushed him away (lovingly) 😆 At last! They were no longer “single pringles,” and they were ready to party!

It started to rain just as we were finishing up family photos, but as we were about to run inside, we saw a rainbow!!! What an awesome wedding day surprise!! 🌈 The fun didn’t stop there because these two spent the rest of their wedding day on the dance floor with their favorite people. Their reception decor consisted of LOTS of cookies 🍪, a neon sign, and wise wedding day advice from Caitlin’s students. Three of my favorite reception details 😂 They even had place cards made for us and saved us seats to eat dinner and their family members checked on us throughout the night. They all made us feel like family, which we were so grateful for 🥰

I don’t have words for the amount of love I have for these two. They are the most incredible people with the kindest hearts and deserve all the happiness in the world! Even when life gets chaotic, they always manage to come out on top, it’s a true testament of what a great marriage they will have.

Caitlin & Mike – we are so so happy we got to spend the day with you! Thank you for your friendship, your positivity on the world and the difference you make every single day in the classroom. We hope you enjoy your amazing honeymoon in Tahiti!!!
