We photograph many things. Our favorite things to photograph are weddings and engagements, but we also photograph family portraits, senior portraits, Headshots, Maternity & lifestyle Newborn Sessions, as well as parties, events and corporate functions. So…..everything!
There are tons of great photographers in the area. Orlando is a saturated market, so there are tons of options for you. What makes us different is our client experience and our editing style. You see a lot of “light and airy” and “dark and moody” styles, but not many take the “bright, bold and vibrant” route. That’s us. I’m a bubbly person, who loves colors and I think it really shows in our work. We also try to make each session an “experience” from the inquiry, right up until the gallery is delivered, and even after! I also consider myself to be creative and I love to think outside of the box. I do love traditional stuff, but I also love getting creative with ideas so that everyone has unique images. You guessed it, I’m a Pinterest gal!
I’m getting married in another state or country, do you travel?
Uhhh, YES! We LOVE traveling. If you are having a destination wedding or a wedding outside of Florida, we would be HONORED to photograph it. Send us some information on your travel plans and we’d be more than happy to send you a custom quote!
Do you service same-sex couples?
Yes, of course! We photograph families and people in love. If you are one of those, we happily serve you regardless of your orientation, sex, race, etc.
Can I bring my dog/cat/animal?
HELL YEAH YOU CAN!!! Sorry, we just loooooooove dogs. (Really any and all furry creatures, but especially dogs). We are totally game to photograph your furbabies, we just have to check if animals are allowed in certain locations you are wanting to bring them. We do require you to bring a trustworthy friend/leash holder though to help out when Fido/Garfield isn’t in the photos.
Mini sessions are held once a year, during the holiday season on certain days, times and locations. These are typically the only ones we do, unless we have some extra time and see the demand. Mini sessions are not available year round but we can always get you scheduled for a family session!
I scheduled a mini session, sooo can I bring my whole family?
Please don’t! Mini sessions are just that, mini! They are quick as it is and having too many people can cause a lot of confusion, misguidance, and missed shots. We require each immediate family to book their own mini session (preferably back to back) and we can take shots of you all together during that time.
Do you have a degree in photography?
I do not. However, I have invested in thooooouuusaaands of dollars of education taught by industry-leading photographers. So although I don’t have a fancy diploma on the wall framed, I do have tons of knowledge given to me by some of the best wedding and portrait photographers in the world. To me, that means more! If you’re wondering who I’m talking about: Amy & Jordan Demos, Katelyn James, Hope Taylor…just to name a few! And everything I know, I’ve taught to Mike
Do you have a preferred wedding vendor list?
YES! I have made so many connections and build a personal relationship with people in the industry that I *do* have someone in just about every field of the wedding industry. Don’t be shy! Let me know what you need and I’ll get you in touch with them!
YES!!! In 2020, we took advantage of the time not working to learn film. We now offer both photo and film! We’re super excited about being able to provide both services to our couples. We also offer real estate, branding and other video services!
Who is your second photographer?
When we aren’t filming, Mike is my second photographer. When Mike is filming, I have one of my trusted colleagues come and shoot with me. They are all 100% vetted and capable as they are just as educated and talented!
What is a print release and when do I get it?
A print release is a document signed by me stating you have rights to print the images. Although I work with a professional lab that color corrects, some clients prefer to print on their own. Since the copyright of the images belongs to me, some places/labs may give you an issue when printing. A print release makes it easy for you to print with no issues. You will receive the print release either on the day of your session or when the photos are delivered.
Yes absolutely, I believe every photo deserves the time and attention of editing to be considered for delivery. I have extremely high expectations for myself and my images, and I refuse to give you something that does not reflect that. With that being said, I do shoot in manual mode, which allows me to get most of the image correct IN camera which makes it easier to edit since most of the work I’ve done while shooting. I hand edit every single image I deliver to ensure it meets my (very high) standards.
When will I receive my photos?
For portrait sessions, 2-4 weeks. For weddings, 6-8 weeks. Like I mentioned, I hand edit EVERY image, so it does take some time. But it’s so worth the wait! A sneak peek will be posted on social media within 72 hours of your session/wedding, though!
How many photos will I receive?
I don’t guarantee a certain amount of images. I used to, but it became unrealistic. Each scenario is different so it’s hard for me to say. There are a lot of factors that can alter that number, such as cooperation, timing, amount of hours booked or lighting. I do my very best to get you as many images as possible. I do not cap the images you receive (unless otherwise stated, example, mini sessions)
I received my images, but you must have taken so many more! Where are they?
I can say with full confidence, the images I delivered are ALL of the good images. I’ve already done the work for you in eliminating duplicates, blurry photos, photos with eyes closed and funny faces, as well as unflattering images. I PROMISE you, I sent you every single image that met my standard. I don’t cap the gallery at a certain amount of images. (Unless specifically stated, ie. mini sessions).
Will you send me RAW, unedited images?
No. Nope. No. RAW and unedited images are not able to be seen or bought. I do not send anything less than my best work, which are all edited. I will never, under any circumstance send unedited or RAW images. It’s like asking for a baker for the raw ingredients, instead of the beautiful frosted 4 tier cake. You hire professionals for their skill! Let the pros do the magic, and you can sit back and enjoy the cake (and photos!) Definitely both.
Do you offer payment plans? How do you structure your payments?
For weddings, I do offer payment plans. I require a non-refundable retainer of 30% (amount varies on the package) upon booking. This secures your date and gives you exclusive rights to this day. Which means I turn down every opportunity that comes my way for that date, which is why the retainer is non-refundable! The date is not secured until the retainer is paid and the contract is signed. After the initial 30% retainer, the balance is due 10 days prior to the wedding. I know 70% of a wedding package is a large chunk of change, so I do offer monthly payments between the retainer and the final payment. I always try my best to accommodate my clients, so if a special type of payment plan is needed, just reach out and ask!
For portrait sessions, I require a non-refundable retainer, usually $50-$100 depending on the session type. The remaining balance is due the day of the session or can be paid beforehand. I do charge a late fee per day that it is late for both portraits and weddings. The session is not booked until the retainer is paid and the contract is signed!
Can we provide you with a shot list for our wedding?
Of course! Before your wedding, I will sit down with you and go over EVERYTHING. Family breakdowns, timeline, shot lists and more. Like I’ve mentioned above, I create an experience for you, not just show up and click a button. A well scheduled day is key to getting everything and anything you may want covered. A shot list 9 pages long is an unrealistic expectation in a 8-10 hour day, so let’s start with priority shots and work our way from there! 🙂
Do you offer albums and/or prints?
Yes! I work with a professional lab that caters to only photographers! They color correct so your images come out stunning, unlike some of the big box print shops. Those tend to come out yellowy and blotchy regardless of how well colored the image is. So I DO recommend going through a lab for portraits and weddings. But ESPECIALLY weddings! My lab does prints of all sizes, canvas wraps, albums and so much more! If you’re wanting these products, let’s chat!
How many weddings do you do in a day/weekend?
In a day? Seriously? Just YOURS, silly! I am a one woman show, and if I were badass enough to be in two places at once, you bet your behind I’d be doing something other than photography! LOL. But seriously, I’m ABLE to do 3 weddings a weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). It really just depends. If I am booked for a wedding that requires travel, I will not book another wedding that weekend. In other words, you can trust I’ve done everything I can to ensure YOU are my top priority on your special day.
COVID is making planning my wedding so difficult, what are your policies for re-scheduling?
This is a great question and it’s unfortunate that I needed to add it to FAQs. COVID is a tough topic for many brides and grooms and their families. It’s also a really tough topic for your wedding vendors. A lot of vendors use this as an income to feed their families and keep the lights on. We are doing everything we can to still be as understanding and lenient as possible, while still trying to run our business. If there is a mandate in place that prevents you from holding your event, please check in with us (and your other vendors) before choosing a new date. We can give you availability to work with so the transfer of services is smooth and stress-free. The non-refundable retainer is just that, non-refundable. However, we’ve been doing our best to work with each situation to come to a middle ground. For more information, please shoot us an email so we can discuss the best options for you.
What happens if you die/are sick/have a family emergency?
If I’m sick, I will be there. (Not like, COVID sick, just regular sick-sick.) Maybe in a hazmat suit (this joke didn’t age well huh?), but a sore throat or a cough won’t keep me away. I would not miss your day for the world. If I’m in the hospital, I am doing my best to escape and be there. If there is seriously a situation that I cannot attend your wedding (like being dead, contracting COVID, having a family member die, or some other personal act of God) I will have a back up plan available for you. Most of my packages include a second shooter anyway, so you will have that person. I always reach out to others in the area to see who is available god forbid something happened. A plan B is ALWAYS a good idea. This person will have a similar style to me, but I will be doing the editing to stay consistent with what you paid for. Unless of course I’m dead LOL. Hey, it’s morbid, but I’m sure you thought about it given the current state of the world!
